Review notes for Kopano
Preview built 29 Oct 2026. The live goodaiglobal.org was not touched. Nothing here is published.
What changed in this preview
- Added a dated "Since March 2026" timeline with a source link for each entry.
- Rewrote the five briefs from Feb-Mar 2026 and added one new brief (POPIA/FNB). Each is marked Draft and cites its sources.
- Replaced the stat strip and ticker with figures that have a named source.
- Subscribe form is disabled. No data is collected.
Removed because we could not source it
- "Over 90% of Africa's compute capacity is controlled by foreign hyperscalers"
- "Youth unemployment at 45.5%"
- "Broadband ranking: SA #72 globally, Rwanda climbing"
- "Municipal audits: 28% clean audits nationwide"
- "POPIA enforcement: 3 new enforcement notices issued"
- "Ubuntu Town: Phase 1 community deployment live" (needs your confirmation before it returns)
- The old SA brief ("what it actually says"): the draft it analysed was withdrawn on 26 Apr 2026.
Needs your confirmation
- CONFIRMED by Kopano, 29 Oct 09:42: attribution stays “Keke Lebaka, Founder & Editor-in-Chief”. (Quote wording itself carried over from the live site.)
- Whether the five articles may be published under the desk names (Signal, Policy, Compute, Markets, Data) or need a named author. No bylines were invented.
- Who approves editorial copy before it goes live (these are drafts written from public sources).
- Whether "Media Intelligence" has a running pipeline. The live site says real-time and automated. We could not verify it.
- Constitutional Observatory: the framework, rights-impact and country-comparison pages need content you approve.
- Africa AI Index page: what data should it show, and from which sources?
- Whether to bring back any removed stat, with a source you accept (for example Stats SA for unemployment).
- Support page ("Fund Africa's AI Future"): enquiry-only, or a real payment route later. No payments were wired.
- Newsletter and contact: provider and receiving inbox. Needs consent text and a POPIA privacy notice before it is connected.
Source caveats
- Some figures come through secondary sources: the 0.6% share cites ADCA via Kilwa Research; the 1.5-2.2 GW figure cites McKinsey via HSF Kramer; the Nigeria deadlines are KPMG's reading of the CBN standards. Primary documents should be checked before launch.
- Rwanda "first dedicated AI institution" is how Kigali Daily News and iAfrica describe it. It is attributed, not asserted as our own claim.
- The March 2027 South Africa date comes from a parliamentary reply on PMG. An earlier Reuters report said January 2027.
- Kenya's AI Bill item rests on one newsletter (Africa AI News). Worth a second source.
- AU Libreville ministers' session (26-29 Oct) is happening this week and is not covered yet.
Technical
- This preview is a static page on a separate Cloudflare Pages project. The live Next.js worker, DNS and repository are unchanged.
- To go live, the content needs to be ported into the goodaiglobal-web repo, previewed there, and switched only on your explicit go, with rollback.
- Cloudflare's $23.46 overdue balance is still a risk to every hosted site.
